The PTA Thrift Shop … last year raised about 20,000! This
is Perry Harrison's most lucrative fundraiser. Schools get a share of the
Thrift Shop's profits, based upon the number of volunteer hours each school
logs. More volunteer hours mean a bigger check. There are lots of ways to
volunteer. Attend thrift shop work nights
scheduled by your child’s teacher. Help your child’s
teacher receive funds for the classroom by showing up to volunteer when they
ask you! Be trained as a supervisor and
oversee occasional work nights. These sessions are great volunteer
opportunities for working parents because they are in the evening and usually
last only two hours. If evening commitments are difficult, drop by the store
during the day to pick up a load of
laundry. There's always work to be done at the Thrift Store and
they love volunteers, so stop in anytime
and offer to help. Your work WILL make a difference! Questions?
