PTA Thrift Shop
Did you know that the PTA Thrift shop is the PTA's largest source of funds to
support the school? Last year PHS volunteers earned $26,000 for the
school through the Thrift Shop alone.
How does it work?
- Income from Thrift Shop sales are distributed to each of
the Chatham County Schools based upon the volunteer hours credited to each
school.
- By supporting the PTA Thrift shop through donations,
purchases, and especially attributing volunteer hours to Perry Harrison, you
can support one of our most productive fundraisers.
How can you help?
- Classroom Work Nights - Help during scheduled work nights organized
by PHS teachers and staff.
- Drop by Help -Stop by the Thrift Shop any time they are opened to
volunteer as many hours as you wish.
- Drop Box Collection - If you have a van or truck, schedule a time
to collect items dropped off at any of the Thrift shop drop boxes. (school
locations and Thrift Shop shopping centers; then deliver those items to the
thrift shop) Drivers earn triple time. ( 1 hour = 3 hours credit to the
school)
- Transport merchandise to other shop locations- If you have a van or
truck you can transport merchandise from one location to another and earn
double time for the school. (1 - hour effort = 2 hours credited to the
school)
- Laundry - Pick up bags of clothes. (Already pre-sorted, so
the unusable stuff has been eliminated.) Clean the laundry, place
the clean laundry back in the bags (You do not need to fold!
), and return them to the store.
It is a great way to help from your own home. Call ahead to be
sure that there is sorted laundry ready to for you to pick up.
- Be sure to clearly sign the log book, record your
hours, and credit those hours to a PHS teacher, PHS program, or PHS in
general!
